OpenSetu is an open protocol. Anyone can build and run their own version. We encourage developers, communities, and governments to set up their own resolvers to serve local needs.

OpenSetu was designed with digital sovereignty and vernacular access in mind. We reject the centralized model of surveillance-based internet infrastructure. Our only job is to translate domain names. Not to observe or analyze who you are.
As a resolver, we only redirect domain name requests. We don’t host or serve content, and we don’t control the content that others publish under their domains. We remain compliant with all applicable laws while safeguarding user freedom and privacy.
